EERAdata entered an exciting stage of the project in February

Following our successful meeting in Munich in October 2019, the team connected face to face again in Poland this February, to initiate the next phase of the project.

Kindly hosted by our lead technical partner ITTI, the consortium met at their facility in Poznan on 26 February 2020 for two days to discuss the core elements and design of the project’s Decision Support Tool.

The workshop reviewed the technical methodology and the end-user requirements that will be used when building the software. Partners also discussed some of the issues within EERAdata’s industry that need to be addressed and how EERAdata may tackle them.

The overall architecture of the Decision Support Tool will be designed based on the identified user requirements and the specific methods and key variables chosen to assess the impact of Energy Efficiency investments in buildings.

It is envisioned that ITTI will work from use cases provided by the consortium when developing the Decision Support Tool. The feedback will be used by the Polish tech group to create a solution-focused and user-friendly tool, thereby giving partners the opportunity to turn their research work into a practical solution.

Through assessment and validations in six case studies, the project will arrive at an agreed set of indicators and variables through which to evaluate Energy Efficiency investments in buildings against additional energy supply and imports. These will then feed into the methodology which the EERAdata tool will operationalise in order to allow municipalities to compare and contrast Energy Efficiency investment with that of supply-side investment to aid in their decision making with regard to renovation of the building stock.

This is a very exciting stage of the project as partners will begin to envision what the tool will look like and how it can be used.
